Located in the Yanqi Industrial Development Zone, Huairou District, Beijing, the Beijing Classic Car Museum is a specialist museum dedicated to the collection, exhibition, and historical research of classic and vintage vehicles.
Its core collection was amassed over several decades by Chinese automotive collector Mr Luo Wenbo, with nearly 100 vintage cars on permanent display. The comprehensive collection spans pivotal milestones in the early history of China's automotive industry, alongside iconic global automotive heritage from the first half through to the late 20th century.
Highlights include early Chinese-built classic models from the "Dongfanghong", "Hongqi", and "Jiefang" series, as well as a substantial lineup of state dignitary vehicles, military off-roaders, and post-war civilian classic saloons from the United States, the Soviet Union, and Europe. The vast majority of these exhibits retain their factory-original mechanical underpinnings, bodywork paint, and interior trim, serving as a vital physical archive for studying the evolution of both global and Chinese automotive engineering.
Established in 2009, the Beijing Classic Car Museum was founded to fill the void of private, specialist automotive history museums in China, actively salvaging and protecting endangered domestic and international automotive heritage.
As one of China's pioneering dedicated vintage car exhibition facilities, the museum serves not only as an invaluable on-site research base for motoring historians and automotive engineers, but also chronicles China's arduous journey from early import reliance to building a self-sustaining automotive industry through systematic curation and archival documentation.
Over years of operation, the museum has evolved into a premier automotive cultural landmark combining motoring education, classic vehicle restoration networking, and historical preservation, holding an indispensable role in advancing classic car culture in China.
Entrusted with priceless automotive heritage and irreplaceable vintage exhibits, the daily operations and collection care at the Beijing Classic Car Museum strictly adhere to professional museum-grade standards.
Exhibition halls and vehicle storage facilities are maintained under strictly controlled climate conditions to safeguard vintage chassis, rubber components, leather upholstery, and aged paintwork from environmental degradation and oxidation.
In terms of collection maintenance and active preservation, all vintage vehicles undergo routine mechanical fluid servicing, electrical insulation checks, and anti-corrosion treatments carried out by specialist vintage car technicians.
In public exhibition areas, all visitors are required to strictly observe museum safety regulations. Touching vehicle paintwork, crossing protective barriers, or engaging in any action that risks compromising these historical treasures is strictly prohibited.
